How our Passion Was Born
from an early age

As a little boy helping with grandpa on the bees on the farm. So Kris Boeckx's passion for nature and bees was born.
So when he had the opportunity at work from a colleague to buy over the equipment of his father who was a beekeeper, there was no hesitation. Registration for the beekeeper course quickly followed.
An apiary was built with materials he gathered from construction. The garden that was already very ecologically arranged were put even more plants on which the bees could fly all year round.
Enzo also began the 3rd generation of beekeeping in the Boeckx family.

In October 2005, disaster struck and Kris could no longer care for his bees. His wife Hilde stepped in as an "emergency" beekeeper. Together with the help of members of the beekeeping association, she too learned the trade of beekeeping and continued the tradition.
Daughter Liesbeth, who still prefers to stay out of the hatches when the hives open, knew how harvesting the honey worked. She had grown up with this from an early age. She helped on the sidelines and was an expert at unsealing the windows during the honey swing.
In 2010 Nick, the "son-in-law", also caught the passion of bees. Out of curiosity he went to help the bees once, but continued to do so afterwards.
When Nick and Liesbeth bought an old 1840 long-fronted farmhouse in Meerhout, under the approving eye of Kris, the idea soon arose to equip the farmland next to the farmhouse with maximum focus on bees and move some of the bees here. And so The Farm Bee was born.
